Before the babies were born, Daddy was worried we would have to get rid of the dog guardians based on the how they reacted around kids and puppies at the dog park.
However, it has been a completely different story. Max initially would
sit next to the door when we first brought the babies home. Max would cry and try to climb through the fence we put around the babies, he was a built in
baby monitor. Max would try to sniff and get as close as possible, he would behave as a
nurse dog. Marvel on the other hand, well if it's not squirrel then it is nothing. Marvel has been showing more interest because squirrels are getting difficult.
While both dogs may have successfully pulled off a lick now and then, mommy and daddy have tried their best to keep the dogs away. We have allow the dogs to smell from time to time but until the babies are 100 days old, the dog don't get to lick.
The only major problem is that Max is a destroyer dog, meaning if it touches the floor he gets to destroy it. So pacifiers, blankets, baby mittens, baby socks, and stuff animals all belong to him to destroy. This is will be a nice thing when it comes to food, especially Cheerios, in the near future.
(Reminder - Clicking on a photo will open a slideshow and can view larger photos. I recommend doing just that for this blog, too many photos to just scroll to the bottom for.)
Max and Baby A
Notice my right hand is gently pushing on Max's chest. Easiest way to control a dog. |
Making is going for A's foot/sock to lick. |
Why did you move me here, Daddy? |
I really want to lick this? |
Riding Time |
Max is into the riding thing, A is not. |
Marvel's Turn
This is getting boring |
This dog is getting close, not as aggressive but still curious. |
Marvel does not like the riding idea |
