--- Latest Review 5/26

AlbumLullaby Renditions of U2 ArtistRockabye Baby! - 11 songs lasting an hour from Sunday Bloody Sunday to The Sweetest Thing. The music is mostly played with an xylophone and as an adult is has the melody.

Review - 4.5 Stars - Cost $11.99 on iTunes - At nearly $12 this would be a 4-star rating if not for the fact it is an hour long. While it is soothing music for both baby and adult, one hour of xylophone music is a little much for anyone (maybe that's why it is easy to go to sleep listening to). Therefore, I have it in a playlist with the baby music below and I set that to shuffle so everything in combination makes a nice mix.

AlbumBaby Music - Lullabies for Babies and Children Songs - Baby Lullabies and Songs for Babies,Nursery Rhymes and Music for Children ArtistBaby Music Orchestra - 55 orchestrated songs lasting over 3 hours from Amazing Grace to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Review - 5 Stars - Cost $9.99 on iTunes - Very soothing music for both baby and adult.

-----

AlbumChildren's Classics: Relaxing Piano Favorites from Nursery Rhymes, Lullabies and Children’s Songs Artist: Children's Classics - 58 piano arrangments lasting over 1 hour.

Review - 4.5 Stars - Cost $7.99 on iTines - Very nicely down but  58 tunes that last slightly more than one hour results with too many songs lasting 45 seconds or less. However if you mix with album above and put on shuffle music they combine into a very nice 4 hours of music.

-----

AlbumChinese and English Nursery Rhymes ArtistFaye-Lynn Wu - 20 songs that are sung in Chinese and in English for a total of 40 songs lasting about 30 minutes.

Review - 4.5 Stars - Cost $13.00 on Amazon - I love the concept for this book/CD combination however most of the songs in the 30 to 45 seconds range. Just as you are getting into the song it switches to the next.

-----

Album: Music of the Andes Vol. 1 Artist: Inkari - 10 classics Andean songs with a heavy emphasis on the flute. Play time about 40 minutes.

Review - 5 Stars - Cost $10 on the street corner in Davis, California circa 1992. I bought this at a Farmer's Market because they had a lot of energy. Never thought I would add it to a collection of baby music. However I added it to my baby music playlist and hit shuffle. The volume is turned down and it just adds a change in tune. The babies don't get upset and the adults love the change.

AlbumKids Songs - Rimas Infantiles (Nursery Rhymes) Spanish ArtistKids Songs English Spanish - 11 Songs all sung in Spanish from "Soy una Pequena Tetera" to "Wee Willie Winkie", play time about 27 minutes.

Review - 5 Stars - Cost $9.99 on iTunes - I strongly believe in having babies exposed to a variety of sounds, voices, and languages early. I have no idea what these songs are but they fit my criteria. Soothing, entertaining, and the mix up the baby music playlist.

AlbumKids French Songs (Traditional Nursery Rhymes) ArtistLanguagenut - 10 Songs all sung in French from "À la claire fontaine" to "Frère Jacques" with a play time of 14 minutes

Review - 3.5 Stars - Cost $9.90 on iTunes - While I strongly believe in having babies exposed to a variety of sounds, voices, and languages early. I have no idea what these songs are but they fit my criteria. However, 10 songs in 14 minutes tells me the French have no time for nursery rhymes outside of Frère Jacques or "Brother John" as the English sing it. However, you have to love the album art.
